
Godot Retro Mipmap Shader Pack with Demo
A downloadable asset pack for Windows
Classic 3D shader for crunchy mipmaps based on distance. Inspired by games such as Wolfenstein and DOOM, this pack includes:
- 4 gdshader code block shaders: (only usable in Godot engine)
* Automatic Real: uses the distance from the camera's position to the fragment to automatically make a darkened and smaller version of one texture
* Automatic Plane: uses the depth from the camera's xy plane to the fragment to automatically make a darkened and smaller version of one texture
* Manual Real: uses the distance from the camera's position to the fragment to choose from five manually drawn textures
* Manual Plane: uses the depth from the camera's xy plane to the fragment to choose from five manually drawn textures
- Sample Textures (made in like 20 minutes) for trying out the different shaders
- And a little demo scene to show the shaders in action!
Note: the plane distance shaders cause inconsistency when rotating the camera, however the real distance shaders create circular falloffs that clash against the low resolution textures and break immersion. See what fits for your game, though!
